GARDENS BY THE BAY ATTRACTIONS

A garden to walk in and immensity to dream in--what more could he ask? A few flowers at his feet and above him the stars.

Victor Hugo

The last time I visited Gardens by the Bay was last 2014. All the attractions that I will be mentioning in this blog are the ones that I personally explored. By this time, there are added attractions in the garden but I won't tackle it here since I never visited it yet. For now, I'll just focus on the attractions that I've been to. So, let me begin with greeneries and floras.

A cool-moist conservatory forest as big as 1.5 regular football fields put together with a surface dome area of 12,000m2 covered by 2,577 glass panels of 690 distinct shapes and sizes. The temperature inside the Cloud Forest is 23ºC – 25ºC. A 35 metre tall mountain shroud in lush greenery and labelled as the "world's tallest indoor waterfall". There are nine unique zones in Cloud Forest to enjoy and learn the biodiversity and geology of the forest as well as revealing the mysterious botanical world while reflecting on the environmental threats that can harm them within the zones of this conservatory. Feel refreshed with the mists and at the same time conquering my fear of heights while doing the cloud walk and the tree top walk.

Felt like entering to a different world--Pandora: The World of Avatar. Grabbed the 2017 Travelers' Choice TripAdvisor award Top 5 Landmarks in Singapore -- Supertree Grove. There are 12 of these Supertrees that can be found anywhere in the Gardens while the other 3 they are placed at the Golden Garden and the remaining 3 is at the Silver Garden. An inner vertical structure that upholds the Supertree is what we call the Reinforcment concrete core. The trunk core of each Supertree is made of reinforced concrete that is wrapped with a steel frame. There are planting panels that are installed on the trunks serves as the base for the planting of the living skin. The Canopy was assembled and hoisted by a hydraulic jack system that looked like an inverted umbrella has an environmentally sustainable functions that provide shade during the day and lighted up with sound during the night supplied by solar energy.

The OCBC Skyway has a 128-metre long walkway (the ring that you see in the photo) that connects two Supertrees at the Supertree Grove at 22 metres high. You can chill out at the Supertree-top bistro and enjoy the panoramic view of the Gardens and the whole Marina Bay. I would highly recommend to shell-out for a few SG dollars for this one. You won't regret it. SWEAR!!!

OPERATING HOURS

Open daily: 5.00am - 2.00am

Free admission(Admission to Supertree Grove is free but admission charge to OCBC Skyway applies)

BAY EAST GARDEN

The greatest fine art of the future will be the making of a comfortable living from a small piece of land.

Finding serenity by the waterfront at the second largest gardens in Gardens by the Bay. An abundant wide-ranging lawns with pavilions, beautiful palm trees and the stunning view of Singapore Skyline embracing you as you step into this tranquil garden in the city. The green field is open to the public for you to chill out. Take a quite walk or or have a run on the tract, take photos or have a picnic or whatever, surely you will immerse yourself with the tranquility of the place.

The garden suggests there might be a place where we can meet nature halfway.

— Michael Pollan

There are still a lot of attractions to explore in Gardens by the Bay, a newly added attractions that I'm sure it's worth every penny. I only mentioned a few since that was the attractions I explored when I visited the country. Saddened that I wasn't able to take some snaps of this awesome place because during that time I was not into instagramming. Well there's always a next time. Soon, I will conquer Singapore once again. But for now, I'll just have to jot it down for the "what to see" thingy for my return.

There you go my day adventure in Gardens by the Bay. Thank you for reading until next blog.

The world is full of wonder for me to wander.
