There´s many tools that we use as audiovisual creators or filmmakers, one of them is the animatic video.

The "Animatic" is pre-production video that is used in the development of animation or special effect sequences. This tool has as a main function give a close idea about of how the movie will look and feel with motion and timing.

Most of the times, the animatic is created in base of the storyboard, all the still images are edited together and displayed in sequence with rough movement, dialogs and/or rough sound track added to the sequence of still images to make a test to prove if everything is working fine together.

One of the important reasons why we use "Animatics" is to know exactly the timing of the animation that we need to develop. Whit that we can proceed with a concrete schedule and we can develop a complete production plan for all the production process off an animation piece (that´s one of the reasons why we put the Time Code Generators TCG on animatics).

One important thing to say is that sometimes animatics changes a little bit from the final results, that is basically because as the storyboard, the animatic video is just a tool and not a final product.
