One more day to go, goodbye 2018, welcome 2019. Time has gone by quickly, but I have not accomplished all my goals this year. How about you, guys? I am hoping and praying that 2019 will be a good year for all of us. Yes, there will be drawbacks for sure, but do not let it stop you from reaching all of your dreams or wishes in life.
10 New Year's Resolutions in 2019
I do not have this habit of making a new year's resolutions, but I'd make an exception this time. Here are my 10 New Year's Resolutions in 2019.
-
Make more money

Since 2008, I have been working at home to support some of my needs. However, I have had to stop for a while to finish my college degree. Yes, I have a college degree, but sadly, even if I wanted to work in a real office setting, I can't, because of my chronic illness. It is only this year that I have gotten the chance to work online again as a part-time writer. I started last week of September. The salary is just average, but I am still thankful that I have a job and I am earning to sustain my medical needs. So, one of my new year's resolutions is to make more money next year because I want to help my family, too.

Face my fears

My chronic illness has been inhibiting me to have a normal life. I can still recall the days when I can travel locally and internationally with my family; when I can go to theme parks to enjoy different thrilling rides; when I can sleep soundly at night, etc. Now, I can't do them anymore. But for my new year's resolution, I will try to conquer my fears one by one, and hopefully, I'd be able to do all of them before I turn 34 years old.
-
Learn a new skill

It is exasperating when I feel like I am stuck here at home, doing the usual and humdrum things every day such as doing the household chores, watching movies on Netflix, and making money online among others. So, for next year, I'd try to learn a new skill such as cooking or master the art of makeup because if ever I fail in my online venture, I have a fallback, right?
-
Be more forgiving

Honestly, I am a person who likes holding grudges. When someone hurt my feelings, I tend to hate or remove that person in my life. So, one of my goals in 2019, is to be more forgiving. Forgive those who may have hurt me in the past because life is short to live a life full of hatred and negativity.
-
Find time to read

I hate reading, to be honest. I find it stodgy, most especially when it is not of my interest. However, I have learned that reading is helpful in improving memory, building vocabulary, enhancing writing skills, etc. So, I promised myself to invest in books that I can read next year.
New Year's Day. A fresh start. A new chapter in life waiting to be written. New questions to be asked, embraced, and loved. Answers to be discovered and then lived in this transformative year of delight and self-discovery. Today carve out a quiet interlude for yourself in which to dream, pen in hand. Only dreams give birth to change."
-
Reduce stress

Stress is one of the main causes of chronic diseases such as cancer, diabetes, and high blood pressure. It is something that I want to get out of my system since I am now suffering from an illness. I will try to be more positive this time by learning a new skill, letting go of negative emotions, etc.
-
Study more courses online

FVA and LinkedIn Learning have helped me gain different online freelancing skills. I have learned how to write under the deadline, how to manage my time, how to do data entry and virtual assistance tasks and a whole lot more. Next year, I have this plan of enrolling again to learn SEO or search engine optimization because it is one of the most in-demand online careers today.
-
Sleep early

I have a habit of sleep late at night due to online work. My health is at risk, I know. Moreover, it affects my mood as well. I tend to get cranky, most especially when I wake up with a terrible headache the next day. That is why starting next year, I will try to sleep early, around 10:00 or 11:00 PM.
-
Stop procrastinating

For 2019, I will try to stop procrastinating so I can complete more tasks every day. Since I am suffering from an illness, I tend to sleep in the afternoon for more than 2 or 3 hours. Sometimes, I watch movies before I get back to work which is a not a good habit at all.
-
Eat more healthy food

I am guilty of eating the worst kind of food despite having a chronic illness. I still have fast food and processed food once in a while, particularly, if I feel upset or stressed-out. But after the holidays, I will detox then try to incorporate more healthy food into my diet such as fruits, vegetables, etc. Also, I will try to have an active lifestyle by doing simple workouts at home.
