1. The conflict between Al Houthi and the Saudi-led coalition, which began in March 2015, is dangerously affecting food access for families in Yemen.    

2. Even before the conflict intensified, Yemen’s malnutrition rates were among the highest in the world.    

3. Two in three Yemenis are now in need of humanitarian aid.

4. 462,000 children under five years old are suffering from life-threatening severe acute malnutrition.    

5. 4.5 million people are in need of nutritional assistance, including 3.3 million who are acutely malnourished.    

6. More than 600 health facilities and 1,600 schools have been damaged in the conflict, putting the future of Yemen’s next generation at even greater risk.    

7. Every month our nutrition experts witness a deterioration in the humanitarian situation and an increase in admissions in our stabilization centers. Malnutrition rates are way above the emergency threshold.

8. Attacks on civilians and civilian infrastructure, including health facilities, continue to prevent children from accessing the lifesaving care they need.    

9. Restrictions on commercial trade are preventing the continual supply of essentials, such as food and medicine, and must be lifted.    

10. Action Against Hunger has deployed mobile nutritional teams in Yemen and supports stabilization centers in Hodeidan, Sana’a, and Aden.
