If you understand these words.. you’re either a Sindhi or have close friends who are! Sindhis love saying these words, mixing them with Urdu and will use them anywhere, in any scenario.. even though people might not understand them!
Here are some words that Sindhis love to mix with Urdu… and feel absolutely proud about it!
1. Bhaakur
Bhaakur = Hug! – Sindhis love hugging each other and their friends.. chaltay phirtay bhaakur hi bhaakur.
2. Charya Warya
Charya = Crazy! Charya Warya = Pagal Wagal! – Sindhis don’t need a reason to call each other Charya. That’s how they roll!
3. Loosi
Loosi = Duffer! If you don’t do something correctly.. well, you’re definitely a Loosi!
4. Saien
Saien = Giving Respect! – Again, Sindhis don’t need an occasion or an event to call each other Saien. The word is used out of respect for each other.
5. Chitha Witha
Chitha = Mad! – Derived from Chitha Kutta, a mad dog. If somebody does something crazy, he’s a definitely Chitha.
6. Kinnah
Kinnah/Kinni = bad/ganda! Use it anywhere and everywhere, especially in relationships.
7. Kakoos
Kakoos = A washroom or anything related to it! – So the next time someone asks you about a Kaakus.. just direct them.
8. Raandh
Raandh = Game! – Usually used while playing card games, especially Chawbaaz and Rung! Haan chora, po khedun raandh?
9. Maani
Maani = Food! – Toh phir aaj maani mein kya pakka hai?
10. Kurb
Kurb = Favor/Meherbaani! – Sindhis give each other respect and won’t ask anyone to do anything with taking it as a Kurb first!
11. Takkar
Takkar = Hurry/Jaldi! – Sindhis are very impulsive people, so whenever someone is in a hurry.. ask him, itni takkar kya hai?
12. Kalaak
Klaak = hours/ghantay! – When Sindhis say they’ll be there in 1 klaak, know that it means more than that!
