The world, once in a while, serves up an anomaly that leaves us watching in astonishment. We have all sorts of people that walk amongst us. No matter how they look, they are people at the end of the day. Being tall has its benefits, unfortunately most of the people on this list had some sort of growth syndrome which caused the abnormal growths but also led to a number of other problems. This tallest people list is pretty amazing.

1. Suparwono

Suparwono was born in 1985 in Indonesia. He stood 8.89 feet tall according to unofficial measurements. He died at age of 27 in 2012.

2. Sultan Kosen

Sultan Kösen, A turkish Kurd, is not only Asia’s but also the World’s tallest man living man. He was still growing till he got operated. At the time he measured 8 ft 3 in. Kösen had to drop out of school because of his height, but continues to farm.

3. Ajaz Ahmad

Ajaz Ahmad belongs to Bakkhar village in Punjab, Pakistan. He claims to be 8.3 ft but unfortunately it has never been verified. Suffering from hormonal dysfunction, Ahmad is supposedly still growing.

4. Vikas Kumar

Vikas Kumar Uppal, an Indian was reported in 2004 to be 8.3 ft tall and still growing. He was India’s tallest man when he died on  June 30, 2007 after a failed brain tumor operation in Delhi, India.

5. Parimal Chandra Barman

Parimal Chandra Barman was born in 1962 in Bangladesh, then East Pakistan. He was considered the tallest person in the world in 1991 at 8 ft 3 in. He died in 1991 due to a tumor on his pituitary gland which was the cause of his incredible growth. What’s incredible is that he also suffered malnutrition in his life.

6. Mortaza Meharzad

Morteza Mehrzad, at 8.24ft, is the tallest man in Iran. Born in 1987, he lives in Chalos in the north of Iran. His unusual growth started when he fell during a bicycle ride at the age of 16. This resulted in a pelvis injury and stoppage of growth of his right leg. Morteza’s right leg is about 15 cms shorter than his left leg.

7. Zhang Juncai

Zhang Juncai was born in 1966. He hails from Shanxi Province, China. Juncai is ranked as one of the world’s tallest people. On November 2004 he was verified as China’s tallest man, standing at 7.11 ft.

8. Asadulla Khan

Asadulla Khan from Kendrapada, West Bengal is the tallest man of India. The 24 years old man is 7 feet and 10 inches tall. His father, mother and younger brother are all just 5 feet tall.

9. Bao Xishun

Bao Xishun is from Inner Mongolia, China. Till 2009, at 7.9ft he was the tallest living person recorded by Guinness World Records. He was succeeded by Sultan Kosen.

10. Sun Mingming

Sun Mingming, born on August 23, 1983 is a Chinese basketball player. Mingming stands at7.9 ft and occasionally appears as an actor as well.

11. Naseer Ahmad Soomro

At 7.89 inches, Naseer was born in 1975. He hails from Shikarpur is currently the second tallest man in Pakistan after Ajaz Ahmad.

12. Yao Defen

Yao Defen born July 15, 1972  was from China. Guinness World Records recorded her as the tallest living woman. She measured at 7 ft 8 in tall. And her weight was 179 kilograms. Her super growth was a result of a tumor in her pituitary gland.She died on November 13, 2012.

13. Mohammad Alam Channa

Mohammad Alam Channa born on 1953, hailed from Sehwan, Sindh, Pakistan. He was the world’s tallest living man until he died on 2 July 1998 in a hospital at New York due to kidney failure. He stood at a height of 7.7 ft.

14. Yasutaka Okayama

Yasutaka Okayama was born November 29, 1954 in Kumamoto Prefecture, Japan. At 7.7 ft, he is the tallest basketball player ever to have been drafted in NBA’s history.

 15. Zafarullah Satti

Zafarullah Satti was from Brunei and stood at an amazing 7.6 ft. He died on 23 February 2003 of cancer in a hospital in Islamabad, Pakistan.
