Pakistan is culturally diverse with people who hail from all walks of life. However, when it comes down to a typical Pakistani household, most of them are quite common.
If you grew up in a Pakistani household, then we can bet you that you have seen these items lying around in a house!
1. These old jars of jam filled with minced adrak lehsan, lal mirch, kaali mirch, zeera and haldi.
2. This deceptive cookie box with needles and threads.
3. A large plastic shopping bag containing all the shopping bags in the world.
4. Ugly quilts with mismatched colors and floral prints. They magically appear in winters out of nowhere. Let’s not forget gao takiye.
5. Panadol and Panadol Extra – The cure to all the diseases in the world.
6. Rubber bands in every other drawer… You never know when you will need them!
7. A sofa like this! The sofa looks new even after 10 years thanks to highly resistant sheets.
8. This stupid trunk your mother brought in jahez… It is just there to take the extra space and annoy you.
9. A beautiful, super-classy and highly expensive crockery set that was given to your mother in her jahez. It is only allowed to be used for guests!
10. A drawer full of garbage like this…
11. Old gift wrappers and boxes because they are too fancy to throw out.
12. A remote control that is bandaged, taped and broken, but it still works.
13. Tibet cream and talcum powder that your mother wanted you to apply every time you went out. Tibet has now been replaced with Fair & Lovely.
14. A mombatti stash right on the table. It is ready to serve you whenever electricity ditches you.
15. A plethora of empty bottles of shampoos and twisted tubes of toothpaste. They seem to last forever!
Can you relate to any of this? We bet you can! What other items are usually found in a Pakistani household?
