The incident that took place on the Cox’s Bazar-Teknaf Highway at Khutakhali at around 8pm on Sunday also left three soldiers injured, said Chakaria Circle Assistant Superintendent of Police Md Masud Hossain.

The deceased were identified as soldiers Shafiqur Rahman and Md Nayeem, Malumghat highway police outpost’s In-Charge Md Anwar Hossain told bdnews24.com.

They died on the spot, he added.

Identities of the injured troopers were not immediately available.

 

ASP Masud Hossain said the car was on way from Dhaka to Ramu when the driver lost control and hit the wall of a community centre beside the road in Khutakhali.

 

The Jeep overturned after the crash and led to the casualties, he added.

Anwar Hossain said the injured were admitted at the Dulahajra Christian Memorial Hospital.
