2014 has started off with a big bang! Can't believe how busy I have been, and we are only 20 days in! So first off, I would like to wish everyone a Happy and Successful 2014!
The first week of 2014,I spent training at an Elite Training Camp at the Shidokan in Montreal, Canada! It's a great way to kick start the new year, and it helps to really get yourself into a more competitive mind set! I really enjoy going to Canada to train, I love the Shidokan dojo and Judo Canada always takes very good care of us! (Team USA)
After Canada, I flew to Baltimore, Maryland and put on a judo clinic at the Team Maryland BJJ dojo. I really enjoy teaching and sharing my knowledge and passion of Judo to others, both young and old, and I hope that I motivated and passed on something! I love how supportive the judo family is! So Thank You for having me!
My next adventure start on Wednesday- I am flying to Casablanca, Morocco to compete in the African Open. My first tournament of 2014. This tournament is part of the International Judo Federation (IJF) World Tour, and gives you points towards your World Ranking. After Morocco, I am going to compete in the Paris Grand Slam- one of the most recognized judo tournaments on the International Tour, and then I am off to compete in the Dusseldorf Grand Prix in Germany!

A lot of people always ask me how I prepare for competition. Preparing for a competition is a long process. It is a matter of syncing up your mind and body. I train hard all the time, and stay consistent with my training. Consistency is important. The more consistent you stay, the more and more confident you become with your own abilities.
As long as I know I put my 100% in my training then whether win or lose in competition I will have no regrets in my performance.
Competition is Mental. If you can over come your mind, and relax and HAVE FUN - then you may see major changes in how you compete.
