At least 22 people were killed in a stampede during the distribution of Zakat clothes in Mymensingh town early on Friday.
Officer-in-charge (investigation) of Kotwali Model police station Mahbubur Rahman informed the correspondent six people including the Zakat donor.

Assistant director of Mymensingh Medical College Hospital Sanjeeb Kumar Chakrabarti told Porthom Alo that the incident occurred on early Friday at the residence of Shamim Talukder, the owner of Nurani Jorda factory. A large crowd of poor people started gathering infront of the main gate of the house right after Seheri. At one point, the main gate of the house collapsed due to the rush of people, and the stampede occurred, leaving at least 14 people dead on spot.
A total of 11 bodies have been kept in the hospital, he added.
