October's "31 Days of Breast Cancer Discovery" is a series of daily informative videos in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month presented in association with Beth Israel Medical Center.  Dr. Susan K. Boolbol, the Chief of Breast Surgery, discusses a various topics about how you can reduce your risk of cancer and how to get the best medical treatment if you are diagnosed with the disease.

Day 14's video is entitled "Facts about Genetics" analyzes the relationship between your genetics and your risk of cancer. Dr. Susan K. Boolbol explains that your risk can be affected due to your family history. Breast and ovarian cancer can be genetic. However, this is not the only factor that plays a role, the age that you have been diagnosed should also be taken into account when assessing your risk as well as your relatives' risks.
