In honor of October being Breast Cancer Awareness month, we will be posting daily informative videos presented association with Beth Israel Medical Center and Dr. Susan K. Boolbol for our series "31 Days of Breast Cancer Discovery". Each day, Dr. Boolbol, who is the Chief of Breast Cancer Surgery at the medical center, will talk about breast cancer and share tips on to how to reduce the risk and what steps should be taken if you are diagnosed with it.
On the final day of the video series Dr. Susan K. Boolbol expresses the importances of making an educated decision when you meet with your doctor. Fortunately, our media shares information about breast cancer with women, however this can cause women to be closed-minded when it comes to treatment. It is important to have an open-mind and not self-diagnose or already decide what you think you're treatment will be based on what you see on TV. It is advised that you have done some research before meeting with your doctor but later expand upon these ideas during you meeting.
