In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month, we will be featuring daily videos in association with Beth Israel Medical Center and Dr. Susan K. Boolbol. Each day, Dr. Boolbol, who is the Chief of Breast Cancer Surgery at the medical center, will talk about a different topic regarding breast cancer and share tips on to how to reduce the risk.
Today's topic is about dispelling myths about breast cancer. Dr. Boolbol talks about various beliefs about the disease that may prevent people from seeking treatment, such as the lack of need to get mammograms if your family does not have a history of breast cancer. She explains the truth behind many of these myths and urges that each woman pay attention to her body because anyone of any age can get the disease.
