Better, badder
Aside from their new tablet offerings, Apple also announced the new version of the iMac. The new iMac boasts a 3.5GHz Core i5 processor, and if you feel that’s not enough, you can go ahead an upgrade that to a 4GHz Core i7 processor instead.
As far as graphics go, you’re looking at an AMD Radeon R9 graphics, 8GB of RAM, 1TB Fusion Drive and Thuderbolt 2 ports all round. The 27-inch, oxide TFT display boasts a resolution of 5,120 x 2880, which Apple is calling their Retina 5K display, which should serve creatives and video editors well provided they can pony up the $2,499 Apple is asking for the base model. For people not completely convinced about the new resolution tech, you can get the new iMac at $1,799 for the 27-inch variant, and $1,099 for the 21.5-inch variant.
