Detectives in a drive arrested five members of an international human organ trading syndicate from different parts of the city on Friday night.

Identities of the arrestees could not be known immediately.

Tipped off, a team of the Detective Branch (DB) of police conducted separate drives in the Dhaka University and Gabtali areas of the city and arrested them in the night, said DMP deputy commissioner (Media) Muntasirul Islam.

Police also rescued two victims from their confinement, he said.
