Heck, it’s only natural to be drawn to a day full of sunshine, as it instantly boosts your mood. You can spend time outside, but make sure to be smart about it by using sunscreen to keep your skin healthy. Getting too much sun without protecting your skin can make it look incredibly blotchy and red, as sunspots develop without the proper amount of sunscreen. Prolonged exposure to the sun without protection not only leads to blotchy skin and sunspots, it can also lead to skin cancer. Many people have aged beyond their years from tanning, as it dehydrates the skin and can give it a leathery look. Skin maintains its natural glow and health through hydration. Some sunscreens not only protect you from the sun’s harmful rays, but contain moisturizers as well, which make your skin look even bett Take In Vitamin C Not only does Vitamin C help your skin look younger, but it also helps to boost your immune system. When you are healthy enough to fight off diseases, you will look like someone who is healthy enough to fight off diseases. There are plenty of ways to take in Vitamin C, all of which are beneficial. A great way to maximize the benefits that Vitamin C has on your skin is by drinking a cup of hot water with a slice of lemon, daily. Together, the water and lemon will help your skin get more oxygen and free it of the nasty toxins that can make you look older. This all translates to looking good without makeup. Use Toner Many of us used toner back in our high school days to fight off acne, but forgot about it once we reached adulthood. Even after the pimples have disappeared, toner is still very useful, as it gives one’s complexion a nice and even tone. The best toners are those that do not contain any alcohol, as alcohol can dry out your skin. Toner can help keep your makeup in place, or on those days that you skip the makeup, toner can help make your skin look completely even. There will be mornings where you simply do not have time to put on makeup and toner will become your biggest ally. Scrub Away Another way to ensure that your skin is even and vibrant without wearing makeup is by using an exfoliant. When you scrub away all of the dead skin, your skin will reset to an even tone and light will more easily radiate off of your face. Have you always wondered what it means when someone says, “You have a glow about you”? This is how you get that glow! There are plenty of ways to exfoliate your skin, the simplest of which is to combine water and baking soda in a 50-50 split. Apply the mixture all over your face and massage it deep into your pores. After a minute or so, wash it away with water and lightly dab your face dry with a towel. Your skin will look and feel great. The cost of this homemade scrub is only a few cents, so why not give it a shot? Hands Off! We all touch our faces on a daily basis. The amount of times that you touch your face without realizing is probably astronomical and should be something that you conscientiously avoid doing. Keeping your hands off of your face is greatly beneficial to your skin. Hands are actually very gross; just think about everything you touch in a given day, let alone a given hour! Touching your face can bring all of the germs of the day with it, leading to a buildup of grease that can cause breakouts. Many of us tend to want to pop pimples and try to scratch away at other blemishes, both of which are a big no-no. It will just make matters worse. If you want to look good without makeup, keep your hands off of your face (and away from any pimples) from now on. Get A Healthy Glow If you have already tried a lot of these tricks in the past, but still cannot seem to get that healthy glow, it might not be in the cards for you to get it naturally. However, that doesn’t mean that you should shoot off to the nearest tanning salon (we already talked about how bad tanning is for your skin.) There are plenty of ways that you can get an artificial glow by using natural products. A couple of ways that you can get the appearance of a healthy glow is with iodine or cocoa. Rubbing iodine onto your skin gives off a natural glow, and it won’t do you any harm. When we say cocoa, we do not mean that you should rub cocoa powder onto your face! The butter form of cocoa, hence cocoa butter, is ideal for radiant-looking skin. Drink Plenty Of Water You can help yourself to look better on the outside, by taking care of yourself on the inside. Doctors suggest that we drink almost two liters of water every day, but a lot of us tend to ignore that advice. We really should be following the doctor’s orders, though, since proper hydration is the best way to keep your skin looking healthy (not to mention that it will make you feel better overall). When you see someone with dark bags under their eyes, it’s likely because they aren’t drinking enough water (or they are drinking too much alcohol). Make sure that you are drinking plenty of water. A high intake of water may feel uncomfortable at first, but your body will adjust to it. Also, ensure that you are getting enough sleep to really boost the effects that water can have on your skin. Water is the cheapest drink that you can get, and it doesn’t taste bad at all. As a matter of fact, it doesn’t taste like anything, but can still be completely refreshing, so drink up! Get Rid Of Pimples Earlier, we told you that you should never pop pimples, but they still need to be taken care of in order for you to look good without makeup, right? The best way to get rid of zits is by opening up your pores and treating the nasty bacteria that has been sitting on your face, which caused the pimples in the first place. Moisturizers are a proven and effective way to open up your pores. Some of these creams contain benzoyl peroxide, which specifically treats pimples. It will eliminate the bacteria that forms the pimples, and leave your skin looking healthy and vibrant. Sometimes, pimples can be a little too pesky and require more attention; don’t be afraid to visit your doctor for antibiotics if the problem persists. If you follow all of these tips, you will look damn good, with or without
