As part of being an Advetising and Commercial film production student, I have had to work on three commercials for the international ceramics client, Flux. One of them I was camera op on, the other I was directing myself, and on this one, the one that youre currently reading, I was a camera assistant on. And an extra.
This film shoot was for George Delaforce (director) and the planning of this film, he worked hard on, yet I felt like the benefits were non existant.
George, God bless him, had no extras to be in his shoot, after being let down. So crew had to be the extras. And George did some improv with household objects. I enjoyed the fabulous acting from the traffic cone, for example.
As camera assistant I found this job easy, not as ambitious as I wanted to be on shoot week, but overall a lot less stressful than being camera operator itself.
I'm looking forward to seeing the final edit of George's film. And Flux's thougts of it.
A breath of fresh Flux
