No, it was not a real 'crocodile'. It was rather a real looking life-size crocodile created by a Bengaluru-based artist on a huge crater-like pothole on a busy Bengaluru road to catch the attention of civic authorities. The pothole was the result of breaking of a drinking water pipe about a month ago which subsequently grew in size by rain and constant traffic. But unfortunately the civic authorities showed no response to rectify it in spite of repeated appeals by people. So, the artist took this novel way in a Gandhian way to draw the much desired attention of civic authorities. The commuters were caught unaware when they spotted this rather real looking crocodile resting in the accumulated water in the pothole. To their relief, they soon realized that the crocodile wasn't real. It is however not clear whether the purpose has been served or not.
