“Theodore Roosevelt” said, "The first requisite of a good citizen in this Republic of ours is that he shall be able and willing to pull his weight.”

    The citizen of any country is representative of that country. A country is known by its citizens, so to be a good citizen is very important. A good citizen is one who properly fulfills his or her role as a citizen. A good citizen should have many qualities that make him unique among others. As a citizen he has many responsibilities and duties to bear but he also enjoys some rights and privileges. A good citizen always performs his duties and fulfils his responsibilities wholeheartedly. While he has right to participate in judicial, legal, political, religious and social affairs of the nation but he has also some responsibilities like, not to injure the sentiments of others and to protect the weak against the strong.

           A good citizen is a patriotic person, he sacrifices everything even his life upon his motherland. He always tries his best for the betterment of country. He obeys rules and laws in each condition. A good citizen respects the cultural heritage of his country. He always prefers the welfare of his country upon his own benefit. He works honestly to raise the standard of living of his country. He always keeps in mind the future of his country. He does not involve in such activity that is dangerous for the integrity of his country. He is always honest towards his duties. He is a peaceful person and struggles for the harmony among his people.

        Defense of the country is the supreme duty of a good citizen. At the time of aggression of the foreign attacks, he always remains ready to defend it and even shed his blood for the sake of his motherland. He sacrifices his property, his life and all his belongings upon his country.

  

       A good citizen always respects the laws of state and has no patience with those who are criminals and break the laws of the state. A good citizen brings about the positive aspects and bear down the negative aspects of his country. A good citizen works for the maintenance of unity and doesn’t be led by those who create divergence in the country. Unity of the nations is his topmost motto.

  

      A good will for other races, protection for the weak, helps to victims, sympathetic and kind considerations to his fellow citizens are all the traits that found in good citizen. A good citizen has a spirit of cooperation, friendliness, dedication, humanity and devotion for his fellow-citizens. He is a social worker and always be ready to help others. He has a kind heart that is always anxious upon others worries. He also respects other faiths. He does not involve in such activity which brings him disgrace to his society or to his country. He always tries to come up the expectations of the nation.
