by Florent Michel (taken in Paris) Dear friends, We're so thrilled to announce that we've been receiving great awards for MENTAL and CAMPAIGN. CAMPAIGN received a prestigious Peabody Award, one of the highest honors in broadcast, along with 35 other recipients. Other recipients include Lost (ABC), NBC Coverage of 2008 Beijing Olympics Opening Ceremony and Zhang Yimou (NBC), Coverage of 2008 Presidential Primary Campaigns and Debates (CNN), The Gates (HBO) by Albert Maysles, CBS News 60 Minutes: Lifeline (CBS), and so on. I can't believe my dear little documentary CAMPAIGN is among them. An awards ceremony will be held on May 18 at the Waldorf-Astoria in New York. www.peabody.uga.edu/news/event.php?id=59 MENTAL received Special Jury Mention (for the courage of the subject matter) at Miami International Film Festival. www.miamifilmfestival.com/daily_wrap_one.cfm?id=1009&date1=2009%2D03%2D14%2000%3A00%3A00%2E0&pik=1 MENTAL also received Outstanding Documentary Award at Hong Kong International Film Festival. www.screendaily.com/ScreenDailyArticle.aspx?intStoryID=43865&Category= MENTAL will be theatrically released in Japan starting from June 2009. www.laboratoryx.us/mentaljp/index.php CAMPAIGN will also be re-released in Japan to commemorate the winning of the Peabody Award.
