The film directed by Peter Jackson opened in theaters on Thursday and so far has grossed domestically $73, 645, 127 and $131.7 million internationally.

 

The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug continues telling the story of Bilbo Baggins and the company of Dwarves that seek to reclaim their lost home and treasure. Next year, on December, the journey will conclude on The Hobbit: There and Back Again.
