A BJP MP from Baghpat, Uttar Pradesh, while speaking at the 63rd annual convocation of Gujarat University on Wednesday has remarked that higher literacy among women is responsible for more number of divorces and the lopsided sex ratio in India. According to his beliefs, the higher crime rate in the society is due to increasing literacy level among the present generations of people.
