Veggie Miskipap- Kulitis and Sponge Gourd Soup
A call this dish healing soup, since both main ingredients Kulitis/Native Spinach & Sponge Gourd (as fiver) are good in stomach, it helps proffer digestion and prevent ulcer. Aside of the other health benefits it contains. It is also good for the sick persons and in rainy/winter season.
Here's how to make Kulitis & Sponge Gourd Soup
Ingredients:
- 2 cups Kulitis leaves & flowers
- 2 cups Sponge Gourd (Patola) sliced into bite size
- 1 medium size Tomato sliced into small strips
- 1 medium size Red Onion cut into 8 part
- 4 cloves Garlic minced
- 2 tsp. Shrimp Paste or 1/2 cup Tinapa (smoked fish) you can also use ground meat as optional
- 4-5 cups of Water & 1 Meat Bouillon Cubes or Meat Stock
- a Dash of Salt as Optional for additional taste.
Procedures:
- Saute garlic and onion until slightly brown then add the tomato, stir/saute continuously until the tomato are well done, add the water, meat bouillon, shrimp paste or the smoked fish. simmer for a few minutes.
- Add the sponge gourd, simmer for 3-5 minutes.
- Add the Kulitis leaves & flowers and simmer until the vegetables are well done/cooked.
- Serve hot, best paired with Plain hot Rice.
