A new improved variety Kohat-2010 was approved by Provincial Seed Council and recommended for cultivation in Barani area. Eleven different promising lines were tested in Multi- location Yield. Thirty Kg BNS seed of KT-2000 were produced. Ten adaptive plots were laid out on farmers fields under ADP Project. One trial on Caralluma was also conducted. The soils of different region were tested for salinity. One unit of Mushroom was established in ARS Kohat under BADP-II activities. Two hundreds and fifteen samples of water and soil were tested for different parameter. |

2010-11 |
Fourteen different promising wheat lines were tested in Preliminary wheat yield trial. New cereals were compared under rain fed condition of Kohat under the ADP scheme. Maximum grain yield was recorded for wheat, followed by oat, triticale and barley. Total of 9160 kg seed of different wheat varieties was produced during the year under report. One trial on Caralluma tuberculata i.e. Irrigation Intervals Trial has been conducted. One Mushroom unit has been established at BARS, Kohat under BADP-II. Soils of all blocks of BARS Kohat were analyzed. Mean pH value was recorded as 7.89 while soils are calcareous in nature. Organic matter content was 0.76 % showing deficiency. Two hundreds samples of soil were tested for fertility status. Meteorological data (daily) were recorded and this year 450.7 mm rain fall was recorded.
