Hello Everyone, Our filmmaker this week is a director, screenwriter, artist, animator, sound designer and producer, but most impressively an innovator. Anatanas Janauskas was born in Lithuania in 1937 and began working at the Lithuanian Film Studio in his early thirties. His film Iniciatyva was the first animated film ever created at the film studio! Commonly known for his little strange drawings, his films spark a curiosity that must be filled by taking a look. Lighthearted and simple, but always enjoyable. The innovation did not stop with our filmmaker pick this week. The uniqueness in First Date by Film Annex’s Eren Gulfidan is also exemplary. A short that tells the story of a girl that goes on a first date by herself. Inspired by David’s Foster story ‘Backbone’, a girl spends her date perfecting her lipstick and enjoying her own company. Sounds simple right? Just wait until you see the way this story was actually portrayed! A New york-Based contortionist, Natasha King, executed memorable choreography on the spot. Intriguing and definitely eye-catching. Now take a glance at the innovative work done by our very own Film Annex studio team. They bring us their first online web series, Red Notice, inspired by Dante Alighieri's timeless classic, The Inferno. Red Notice takes you on the unexpected adventures of Dante and Virgil in a modern world setting. Follow Margot (Paige Howe) and Vicky (Lillian Rodriguez) explore a side of New York City that ordinary people don’t get to see. Actress Lillian Rodriguez said, “I was fascinated with the concept of adapting the classical text of Dante's Inferno to the NYC hustle.” Check out our trailers to get excited about the upcoming episodes.
