A couple of days ago, L.K.Advani, the ex-Home Minister and a BJP stalwart had expressed his apprehension of the return back of Emergency in India, which was imposed in India in 1975 by the then Prime Minister, Indira Gandhi. His point of finger was supposed to be towards his party colleague and the present Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi. Let’s assure Advaniji that the institutional and political systems in place now are much stronger and difficult to manipulate than in 1975; so there is no chance again of declaration of Emergency in India.
