Afghan food has a historical background in its region and neighbors. Based on ethnic and tribe which are located in different parts of Afghanistan, you will find variety of cooking methods, although they will use the same ingredients. Afghanistan locates in Central, South Asia which that uses similar spices but not in the extreme way.
Afghan people are more interested to use bread and rice in their daily nutrition, Bread is always served by vegetables and meats like Kebab. Rice is eaten in any part of Afghanistan with another combinations of cooked vegetables and meets. Afghan are get used to drink tea all days specially green tea with sweets.
Most Afghan prefer to eat at home with the family. Traditionally they have a special cloth in which they put all foods there and everybody join that, they rarely use dinning table. There are many restaurant and coffee shops which offer variety of Afghan food and mostly families on weekends go and eat there.
On special occasions like weddings and invitations they serve special meals like Kebabs, Qabuli Palaw, Chicken, Kufta (meatball) and vegetables like Spinach and eggplant.
