Susan is about 23 years old, and she is graduated from Journalism faculty of Herat University. Now, she works at Film Annex and supports her family.
She says: “I am very happy that now girls can go out of their homes for studying and working.”
She says that at the Company I am working for not only urban girls are working but also the girls who live in the far-flung areas of Herat province are working at this Company and are supporting their families.
Susan said that she a 9-member family, her father is working at a local High School as a teacher, so her father cannot support his family with this large number as well as they have to pay the rent of the house in which they live,and by working at Film Annex Company she can help her father pay the rent of the house.
Sohaila is another 43-year-old woman who works at Hatefi High School as a teacher. She says that her husband is not working now because he had been an Officer at Herat airport and after 35 years of service, he is retired and now he is unemployed.
She said: “During the Taliban era not only me, bit also the other women could not go out of their houses.” Now, she and her colleagues can go to the school near their house for teaching and supporting their families.
The same as Soaila there are tens of other women working at different Organizations. For example, Nasima is another 23-year-old girl who has already graduated from Journalism faculty of Herat University, and she works at NAI Organization as an Online Journalism teacher and gets a good pay. She says that: The Organization she is working for is created by the International Community.
Nasima told me that she teaching those girls that they are keen in knowing how to write blogs.
Since the last ten years Afghan women have developed in different fields, and they are hopeful of having a bright future.
