Posted on at

A bouncer at Ainsworth Sports Bar was arrested for allegedly assaulting a customer who left for a smoke and wasn't allowed back inside because he no longer met the bar's dress code, according to Bouncer Chronicles sources.

The 26 year old NJ victim told police he had been hanging out in shorts at the Ainsworth, located on West 26th street NYC since the early afternoon. He then stepped out to light a cigarette at around 11:30PM. When he tried to re-enter the sports bar he was denied access even though he still had an open bar tab. The man was informed by bouncer Dennis Sheppard that he no longer met the club's dress code.

According to police records, Sheppard grabbed the man by the throat after an argument and threw him out. The victim suffered scrapes and marks on his neck. Sheppard was arrested at the scene and charged with assault, according to police records.
