Samsung ditches Android in its smart TVs
Samsung’s not given up on Tizen even though the company pulled the kibosh on the supposedly hi-end Samsung Z smartphone this year. After putting the company’s home-grown solution on their smartwatches, Samsung’s now putting the OS in their smart TVs. In fact, Samsung’s so confident about the new OS that all of their Smart TV models that will be released this year will have Tizen powering them, not Android.
The new TVs will be able to take advantage of Sony’s Playstation Now game streaming service, as well as stream content to Samsung devices in the vicinity.
