All Want to be in Picture with Winners in Libya – Photo Tells the Story, by Ambassador mo

The official winners photograph in Paris on the “Support for New Libya" became a bit crowded as states/politicians who had initially opposed NATO intervention in Libya did not want to be left out. Even more so in politics, there is a rush to paint a picture that may defraud history but pay in the future. (See ARTICLE – “Winners & Losers -Beyond Libya & After Gaddafi” - diplomaticallyincorrect.org/films/blog_post/beyond-libya-gaddafi-winners-losers-by-ambassador-mo/34643 We told you from the outset that the NATO mission to save civilian lives would rapidly be transformed into regime change. (See ARTICLE “Gaddafi End up in Venezuela?” - diplomaticallyincorrect.org/films/blog_post/gaddafi-end-up-in-venezuela-or-chavez-in-tripoli-by-ambassador-mo/26669 )This gathering in Paris was not instigated by the end of NATO’s mission in Libya but rather Gaddafi’s effective loss of Tripoli. Germany, both Chancellor Merkel as well as Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle are in a particularly embarrassing position, having not supported their allies intervention in Libya. (See ARTICLE “Germany Second Biggest Loser” - diplomaticallyincorrect.org/films/blog_post/is-germany-second-biggest-loser-from-un-security-council-war-on-gaddafi-by-ambassador-mo/26539 )The German coalition Government could be in trouble, and many expect Foreign Minister Westerwelle to have to step down. Chancellor Merkel though wants to paint a new picture of history as she pushes to the front and center of the winner’s portrait. If she did not control Eurozone purse-strings, she might have gotten shoved out of the shot, but Europe still has a deep economic hole which will eat up many German Euros. On the other, from China to Germany, all also want to be close to new administrators of Libya's oil.
