Stamford, Conn. – February 20, 2016 – AmeriCares has relief workers on stand-by ready to assist the recovery from Cyclone Winston in Fiji. The storm, the most powerful storm to ever to hit Fiji, made landfall on the archipelago nation’s most populous island Saturday evening local time, knocking out electricity and damaging homes. The government has declared a state of natural disaster for 30 days in the nation home to about 900,000 people.
