You won’t see many bicycles built for two in the largest Dutch city. Home to one of the most entrenched cycle cultures on earth, gearless, anonymous rides are freely borrowed and rarely locked up. It’s no wonder, then, that Amsterdam is ideal for touring by bike, its serene canals criss-crossed by pretty bridges and lined with colourful shops, cafés (pictured) and the world-class galleries of the Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh Museum, among others.
