An Afghan Perspective - 60 Minutes on CBS - Are robots hurting job growth?, January 13, 2013

If we think about human being history, we can see that they  experienced many revolutionary era like: Agriculture, Industrial and now they are in  Information Technology era.  When we speak about Information Technology one of the first images which comes to our mind is about "Robotic Technology"

One of the interesting episode of 60 Minutes this week was about Are robots hurting job growth?  In today's world Humans and Robots work together side by side without any conflicts. But we can not say clearly that would it be  dangerous in future by considering the rapid development is Robot industry and manufacturing advanced robot generations!

However using robots in big manufacturing companies and industries is common. considering human abilities and power, they can do the job more faster and safer based on how they programmed, we can called it automation of our work by replacing machines instead o human forces.

It is not even about hard working but rather than the soft skills like softwares which can be replaced by any paper based procedures and decrease the number of people who are involved on the project.

How about developing countries like Afghanistan? Using robots in the industry as a workforce should be a new challenge for Afghan Society or not?

However in Afghanistan, most of the work load done by human workers and they use machines rarely, Even by considering this issue there are still many jobless people in Afghanistan as they can not find any job opportunity there and they have to move to other countries like Iran and Pakistan to work and cover their families expenses. More jobless people lead the society to a weak economical situation.

Although Afghan people do not use robot in their industries but robots are used in War in Afghanistan. They allow troops to look for bombs in areas they cannot see. The robots transmit images to troops waiting at a safe distance. Using robots in military missions would be a good option in Afghanistan as everyday many Afghan soldiers are killed because they do not have precise and clear information about where they are going to and where the bombs are located.

I think creating robots does not mean totally making people jobless because to create a robot many people must be involved to design the software for the robot, provide hardware equipments, people who are going to maintain and repair robots and many other companies and manufacturers would be involved in the process of robot productions so we can almost think equally both side, more robot, more job creation for people.
