Brain, is the center of our nervous system, which is responsible for all the functions and senses like hearing, vision, taste, smell and others. But what will happen if this powerful part of human body can not respond properly? What will happen for those who will stay in Coma for years although they can hear, think and imagine. What about those who have suffered in war and they are disable? This week, I watched an amazing episode in 60 Minutes which answered my questions.
Scott Pelley, Meet "Robo Sally"
In Applied Physics Laboratory in Maryland, they created Robot Sally as a research for Department of Defense. The interesting part about her is that, they will connect her with sensors to your body and whatever you do she can follow. The most impressive part is her fingers which she can grab everything, even prevent bomb blasting, as her lead designer, Michael McLoughlin said: " a technician located on a base in the U.S. could diffuse a bomb in, say, Afghanistan, by wearing the special Robo Sally suit and visor".
Many countries in some points experienced war for years but many veterans and civilians effected by that and they get use to have artificial arm and hand. But the movements of these arms are limited to what they are programed and their manuals. what if someone wants to do something different than the normal usage, if they want to shake hand, grab a pencil and solve the puzzle? I found the answer in an incredible idea of robotic limbs that can be moved by mind.
Afghanistan faced with almost three decades of war where not the physical destructions was the output but civilians suffered the same. Many people injured badly by the attacks, shootings, bomb blasting and have to spent rest of their lives by suffering of being a defective.
Even after war, each year in Afghanistan thousands of people become disable because of the remain bombs and suicide on the roads and other places.
Economical situation in Afghanistan is a big issue and those families who have a disabled member they can not cover huge expenses for the operations to have intelligent robotic limbs or other artificial solutions which help them to live better.
In Afghanistan we have the Ministry of Labor, Social Affairs and disabled that covers the issues about those families who suffered from war. But the budget which they spend for them is not enough. I would like to see such great and adorable projects even in Afghanistan and not keeping it as a dream to have it one day. I am interested to contact with people who are involved in this project and find a way to help my Afghans by watching this amazing episode in 60 Minutes.
از آنجا که مغز انسان تمام فعالیت های عصبی و حرکات بدن و سایر حواس را کنترل میکند به عنوان یک عضو حیاتی در بدن شناخته میشود. با در نظر داشت این موضوع و اینکه تکنولوژی با رشد فزایند و بدون حد و مرز خود توانسته است بسیاری از ناممکن ها را برای بشر ممکن سازد برنامه ۶۰ دقیقه این هفته در کانال سی بی اس موضوع بسیار قابل توجه ای را در نظر گرفته است. جنگ یکی از عوامل شومی است که دامن گیر بسیاری از کشور ها بوده و هست، در جنگ نه تنها منابع محیطی تحت تاثیر قرار گرفته و از بین میروند چه بسا انسان هایی که جان خود را از دست داده و یا معلول میشوند. فکر کردن به اینکه این افراد معلول چگونه بدون نداشتن یکی از اعضا میتوانند به کار و زندگی خود ادامه دهند نیز در خور تفکر میباشد.
در آزمایشگاه فیزیک مریلند در آمریکا گروهی از محققان به درخواست وزارت دفاع آمریکا پروژه تحقیقاتی را به راه انداختند که در آن رباتی را ایجاد کردند که قادر به انجام حرکات مشابه مانند یک انسان میباشد، طوریکه با قرار دادن حس گر ها بر روی دست انسان رابطه با ربات برقرار میگردد و با حرکت دست، ربات نیز همان حرکت را انجام میدهد. یکی از نکات قابل توجه این ربات کنترل آن از راه دور میباشد. مایکل مک لوین سرپرست تیم طراحان میگوید: یک فرد راهنما در آمریکا میتواند از راه دور این ربات را مثلا در افغانستان کنترل کند طوریکه بتواند بمب ها را خنثی کند.
افغانستان کشوری است که سالیان متمادی جنگ و ویرانی را سپری نموده و حتی آثار جنگ هنوز هم در آن دیده میشود. شاید در هر سال هزاران افغان به علت بمب های باقیمانده از دوران جنگ آسیب دیده و معلول گردند. هر چند دولت با ایجاد وزارت کار و امور اجتماعی شهدا و معلولین به گونه ای هر چند نا کافی سعی در حمایت و کمک به این افراد دارد.
برای من به عنوان یک افغان مهم این است تا بتوانم گامی هر چند کوچک برای کمک به هم وطنانم بردارم چرا که امید برای داشتن چیزی متفاوت از خواستن آن است، بنابراین این فرصت را غنیمت میشمارم تا با افراد این پروژه ارتباط برقرار کنم و تا راهی مناسب برای فراهم نمودن شرایط هر چه بهتر زندگی برای معلولین در افغانستان ایجاد شود
