Ardour was originally for recording on Linux and later on Mac. The latest version works on Windows too. It's a really powerful piece of software. I've used the previous versions for my projects and only scratched the surface of what it can do.

I've donated to the project too and you should if you use it to allow the developers to work on it full time.
