Are you Absent Minded

You can’t remember the details in a report; or perhaps you’ve lost an object, or forgotten an Idea?

So many people lament that they can’t remember things, ideas where they have put objects. They often get angry with themselves and beat themselves up because they can’t remember.

1. Learn how to understand more of how your brain encodes information for later retrieval. There are online courses to understanding the brain and how it works.

2. Negative emotions that you release when you are frustrated by your lack of recalling facts, bio-chemically creates the opposite result to what you want. Often people who get frustrated because they cannot remember something panic which releases a chemical called cortisol and sends a signal to the brain, this is a natural stress response. The best you can do is to do some relaxation exercises, especially exercises that will relax the brain. Once your brain has relaxed the brain chemistry changes to allow neurotransmitters to start a ‘search and find’ process. That will help you remember what you need to remember. I’m sure you’ve been told to sleep on a problem or something you can’t remember and you will remember it in the morning. Sleep has the same effect it relaxes the brain and activates the neurotransmitters to do their job.

3. Breathing exercises are a good way to relax, (take a deep breath, often heard and not often used). If you want more information on correct berating and find a Yoga class, you will learn to breath correctly and also learn to stress manage yourself. Getting yourself into a relaxed frame of mind will help your brain to recall details that you might not have realized you had taken notice of.
