In this Modern era, traditional love scripts are not capturing the audience anymore because of their boring storyline and this is also a love based science fiction story in which an AI system (Chip) is actually controlling or advising different characters to get full access over a human body to interact with the world as a human(a Movie by Leigh Whannell).

What UPGRADE says?
The movie begins with tragedy and in the starting of movie director(Leigh Whannell) shows the new picture of the upcoming era with autonomous vehicles and homes then-husband take his wife with him to one of his customer's home who eventually is a tech inventor and recently invented a chip named as a stem that actually capable of doing anything actually that's not like what we have now is narrow AI but the concept of using it as in this movie as strong AI that's actually incredible how they show AI planed the things and make him helpless so the person who hates technology actually ready to accept it for real and not just accepting but also let technology control over his body, and its okay to have and work with AI until unless it takes decisions by its own and like somebody says
“Many have started to take seriously the possibility of superintelligence in our lifetime.”

When grey is fully disabled after the accident and not able to do anything again but Stem(AI) help him to get back on track and

show him some him capability of his body with the stem(AI) working within and after that helps him to get revenge and when Eron(inventor) get to know about the intentions of Stem(AI) and tries to shut it down but meanwhile, stem(AI) convinced Grey(victim) to get himself to hacker for make changes in part of code which gives access to its inventer and allow him to track and shut down stem remotely

But there's always a character who notice unusual activities in these kinds of movies and that's a Cortez(Policewomen) in this case chasing the grey all the time and found out something wrong happening with him meanwhile hacker done his work and crack the part of code and stem get full access over grey's body and kill Cortez and also inventer

The End
Actually end is not kind of satisfied but somehow it does not look like end or maybe I'm wrong but stem(AI) put grey in his mind's consciousness so can't resist anymore for getting back his body from the stem (but that's my point of view about ending if you have something else let me know in comment section).
