Asagao means Morning Glory. As their name implies, the flowers are most spectacular in the morning. Asagao” means “morning face” in Japanese, that’s quite interesting because it’s very close of the English name morning glory.

Asagao is summer popular flower... blue and purple gives cool impression. A very surprising flower, as one day can bloom with purple flowers and the next one can do it with pink flowers, light purple flowers, even light blue ones!

You can find it in front of many houses, growing vertically maintained by bamboo structure.

Asagao” is also used as a “kigo”, a seasonal word, to represent summer in poems and art for example.
