Charlie Wan is a New York CITY based beauty photographer and director. His visual and storytelling style has been described as ethereal, dreamy and emotional. Whether it is film or photography, Charlie has a very unique and sensitive touch when expressing women's beauty as a subject. "I always think there should be many more ways to tell the stories in this beauty genre other than the usual glamourous and product demonstration approaches." His award winning beauty film ">Bloom is a great example of Charlie's vision of different approach in the beauty universe. Charlie also frequently produce the music and sound design for his own films in his music/DJ moniker Phosphorr. "All my work from visual to sound are essentially under the same universe. They co-depend on each other. I always start with the music first before the visual because it guides the emotions and directions of the shoots." As a former Art Director in the TV and motion graphics industry for over 14 years including companies like Frogdesign, UVPH, VT2 and Impact Digital, Wan's extensive background has earned him a wide variety of projects from Rolling Stones' stage visual to Pepsi TV commercials to record-breaking Superbowl halftime show for the rock legend The Who. His clients include L'Oreal Professionnel, Oribe Hair Care, Chi, Farouk System, Pinko, MTV, VH1, BET, Syfy, CMT, Nike, Adidas, Adobe, Fred Perry, All-Clad, Superbowl, Rolling Stones, Shakira, Pepsi, EMI and Ford Motor.
