Fire service units have managed to control the massive fire that engulfed a slum in the Merul Badda area of Dhaka after an hourlong effort.
According to the Fire Service Control Room, eight units of the fire service managed to control the fire at around 2:15pm. The fire broke out at around 1:15 am in a slum located opposite site of DIT on Pragati Sarani. The source of the fire, and scale of devastation could not be confirmed yet.
A witness named Ariful Haque said, at least 10 tinshade houses burned to the ground due to the fire.
