Being a business owner - the trade

Posted on at

One of the trade offs you have to make when you're a business owner, particularly when your business starts to grow, and you start to implement good systems in place (so that you can focus on the +Business itself, as I have mentioned ad nauseum here), is that you will have employees and friends who believe that they work harder than you. They don't see you doing the "technician's" part of the job any more, so they figure you must just be doing less work.

This is, of course, not the case, unless you suck at life. If your'e a good business owner, your time is spent trying to improve things at your shop or business, not doing the day-to-day tasks. In fact, odds are good that you're going to be taking work home with you as well, if you don't already work from home.

To all you fellow business owners out there, I salute you for a job well done
