It is alarming to know that pollution is so rampant in Bengaluru that the Varthur Lake in which sewage from many parts of the city is released has been filled with foam which has spilled onto the nearby Varthur Main Road, Environmentalists are of the opinion that the foam is the result of the water in the lake having high content of ammonia and phosphate and very low dissolved oxygen. So, the situation is alarming. The government must take immediate action.
