A new four-cylinder, 1,650cc motorbike, the Bienville Legacy, will be revealed for the first time at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed.
The Legacy, which has been developed by Bienville Studios in New Orleans and designed by JT Nesbitt, has been in development for over the years and will be one of the most advanced bikes available.
Its patented suspension leverages one composite leaf spring with the engine mounted at the centre. And for the first time on a production motorcycle, rake and trail adjustment will be available thanks to carbon-composite blades.
To date, three concept Legacies have been produced, but the bike to be revealed at Goodwood will be the first example of the production version.
It’ll feature an American-made Motus V4 engine with a 1,650cc capacity that’ll be mated to a supercharger, making it capable of producing as much as 300bhp.
The Bienville Legacy will have up to 300bhp
The bike will make its debut with a ride up the hillclimb course at Goodwood, ridden by Jim Jacoby and Scott Miller, both of whom founded the American Design & Master Craft Initiative, an organisation which has supported the development of the Legacy since its inception.
Of course, the Legacy won’t be the only entrant that’ll please bike lovers at Goodwood. The whole weekend will be filled with two-wheeled treats.
Sunday in particular will feature a host of bike action, including rides from Valentino Rossi, Casey Stoner, Giacomo Agostini, Freddie Spencer, John Surtees, Jim Redman and Kenny Roberts.
Plus, Yamaha will be celebrating its 60th anniversary with a host of models from its current range as well as its illustrious past.
