After the last race held in November last year at the Rally City of Palladio, the brand Bitlanders is back in motorsport, once again with the crew of Alessandro Fatichi and Cristian Pollini on the Renault Clio R3C of the AF Motorsport team, who will take part in the second edition of the National Rally of Casentino, valid for the National Rally Trophy 2015.
The program includes eight special stages, with the start of the first special stage on July 17 at 21 and the remaining 7 that will take place on Saturday 18.
We took the opportunity to ask Alessandro and Cristian what are the impressions of the race and what they expect:
RF: Why you have chosen to race the Rally of Casentino?
AF: It was chosen because in any case it is a prestigious race and above all fun, and I had proof of this when I raced this rally in 2011.
RF: What are your expectations?
AF: Looking at the car we have, the opportunity to make a good result is present and we expect a very fun rally. It’s also an opportunity to bring the brand Bitlanders back to rally with our custom avatars above the roof.
RF: What kind of race is the Rally of Casentino?
AF: It’s a race entirely on asphalt, very fast. The important thing is to get a good rhythm from the first stage, it’s most likely going to be a good battle both in the overall and our class’ statistics.
RF: Cristian, what do you expect from this race?
CP: after nine months I’m back to a race with Alessandro. I’m very happy to race again in Tuscany, after our adventures in the North. I’ve raced several times in the Rally of Casentino, it is a very challenging race and therefore very rewarding.
RF: You celebrated your 100th race at Ronde City of Palladio, how many races have you done?
CP: I've done so far 108 races, of many different types, cars and drivers. Going from modern cars to historic and from asphalt to gravel.
RF: What is your approach to the races?
CP: The important thing is to have fun and laugh, but once we get inside the car we have to do our best and always stay concentrated. We never forget that we’re doing a very fun sport, but at the same time dangerous. In the car you do your 110%, when you leave the car you smile. Always!
We conclude our interview with the announcement of the presence at the rally, knowing they will spend the month of July in Italy, of the Bitlanders founder Francesco Rulli.
It will be a debut for him as he will assist at a rally live for the first time, with the satisfaction of seeing firsthand a competition of this importance and its own brand on a racing car.
