This is my third C-Blog in the framework of AI blogging, a new spotlight of the BitLanders C-Blogging. It is entitled "BitLanders C-Blogging: History of Siri." My previous works are "BitLanders C-Blogging: Amazing facts about AI" and "BitLanders C-Blogging: AI - a friend or an enemy?"
Artificial intelligence is a field of computer science that develops intelligent computer systems, that have the capabilities that we traditionally associate with the human mind - language understanding, learning, ability to reason, solve problems, etc. The basic properties of AI are understanding the language, learning and the ability to think and, importantly, act.
The use of artificial intelligence in everyday life is rapidly increasing. Today, virtual assistants are a common phenomenon; they are peculiar intermediaries between man and artificial intelligence. For most of us, this technology just makes life easier, but for people with disabilities, it becomes salvation from loneliness, helping them to communicate and maintain relationships with other people.
AI is a complex of related technologies and processes that develop qualitatively and rapidly, for example:
- natural language processing;
- machine learning;
- expert systems;
- virtual agents (chatbots and virtual helpers);
- recommendation systems.
Many of us use Siri on our iPhone, iPad or iPod. But what do we know about the history of the creation of this unique service? After all, in fact, Siri is the first voice assistant who can not only execute commands but also answer various questions asked by the user.
Siri (English Speech Interpretation and Recognition Interface) is a personal mobile assistant that executes commands or answers user-asked questions. The system adapts to each user individually, studying his preferences for a long time.
