International Women's Day
Today marks the celebration of International Women's Day. Aside from Mother's Day and Valentine's Day, this is another day for us to show our respect, our love, and our appreciation for every women in the world. This is to give awareness that women have rights too and they should be loved and cared for just as we love ourselves. We should not hit or abuse them. They are to be praised for their beauty and their strength.
Here in our country, this day is also the day for the march of justice for the 44 SAF (Special Action Forces) members killed in Mamasapano, Maguindanao province last January 25. My heart goes to the mothers, wives, sisters, nieces, aunts, cousins, family and friends to the fallen heroes.
It is sad to note that there are those greedy and selfish cold-hearted people who take advantage of such events to promote their personal desires and play dirty to hopefully destroy their enemies. These "users" have no honor. They are not worthy to be called "leaders."
I wonder what these women and their families feel about the posthumous promotion for those SAF troops mercilessly killed in Maguindanao. Will it bring their loved ones back if those heroes were posthumously promoted? Even up to the highest rank? Is this how the government shows their apology for what happened?
Let these women and their families be at peace by giving them the right to know what really happened and justice be served to those fallen heroes.
