Hi,

My name is Chris Rushton. I am currently a second year Film production student at Staffordshire University, where one of the aspects of the modules is to write a blog. So to start off with, I thought I'd write a short introduction about myself as a film-maker.

My passion in the film world is directing. It is my preferred role as I like to have control of situations (In an OCD way, not a control freak way).This is the career that I strive towards, and I am aiming towards directing in television. However, I come from a very technological background and so I am able to use a number of different varieties of equipment, to a very high level. At college, I studied Media, Photography and computer studies... So its quite technological.

My hobbies include, Photography and theatre. I have a passion for theatre as I feel it is a way of expressing myself, but it also helps for my film making as I can relate more towards my actors. I have been in many roles and thoroughly enjoy it.

But back to my film making. The types of films I enjoy making the most, are dark dramas... especially shorts. These are the types of films that inspire me the most, as their meanings are much deeper than they seem.
