Borra Caves, Andhra Pradesh

 

Andhra Pradesh, India is known for many places to visit in the tourism business. One of them is the Borra Caves and by the local people from this area is known as Borra Guhalu in Telugu language. The name of this cave described as something that is bored inside the ground that is located in the east coast of India. It is located on Ananthagiri hills of the Araku Valley of Visakhapatnam district in Andhra Pradesh. This cave is one of largest in the whole country with the elevation of about 750 meters above sea level. This cave particularly displays a selection of inspiring speleothems between very small to big with unequal shaped stalagmites and stalactites. This cave region is Karstic limestone formations expanding to deepness of up to 80 meters that is the deepest cave in India. This cave was discovered back in the year 1807 by William King George.  The history also shows that it contains Lingam of Lord Shiva who protected the COW. Since they heard the story, they have built the small temple of Lord Shiva outside the cave. The cave is well-connected to the rail, road and air services. People can visit this place by any means that are suitable for them to travel.
