Bangladesh skipper Mashrafe Bin Mortaza appreciated the superb performance by the Tigers against South Africa to win the historic one-day international (ODI) series 2-1 in Chittagong on Wednesday.
“The boys played brilliantly in the third match,” Mashrafe said while commenting on the third ODI at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium on Wednesday.
The Tigers clinched the series crushing Proteas by nine wickets in the final ODI.
Riding on the magnificent score by Soumya Sarkar, Bangladesh recorded the remarkable series win against the mighty South Africa.
About Soumya's outstanding performance, the Bangladesh captain said, “The way Soumya was batting was very nice to see.”
The Bangladesh opener blasted 90 from 75 balls while Tamim scored unbeaten 61.
About Tamim Iqbal, he said, “Tamim showed his character. It was brilliant.”
Mashrafe also appreciated Bangladesh youngster Mustafizur Rahman for his brilliant performance in the third ODI. “Mustafiz(ur) has become a very good fast bowler,” Mashrafe said.
The Tigers bounced back in the second ODI- winning the match by seven wickets. It was a powerful comeback after the Tigers lost their first ODI.
“After losing the first match, it was difficult to come back in the second,” said Mortaza.
